WEBINAR

One (1) Home Study Continuing Education Credits (75% score or higher required)

Knowing the literature about suicide isn't enough when the patient is unwilling to talk about it, or when the therapist's feelings interfere. Understanding the experience of the patient and recognizing the therapist's own feelings can help open channels of communication.

This program fulfills the requirement for Act 74.

Program Learning Objectives: At the end of this webinar, participants will be able to:

  1. Name three conditions for suicide described in the Interpersonal Theory of Suicide
  2. Describe an approach to introducing the topic of suicide with patients
  3. Name two common myths about suicide
  4. Identify three common patient reactions to talking about suicide
  5. Identify two unhelpful attitudes toward patients who think about suicide

CREDITS OFFERED: 1 Continuing Education Credit for psychologists and educators.
