This workshop will discuss the importance of creating a professional will.  Topics will include the reason for having a professional will, elements that should be included in a professional will, how having a professional will can help patients by minimizing disruption to their care, and by addressing their anxieties or distress regarding the change to a new therapist and ethical issues that may arise.  

At the end of the workshop, participants will be able to:

1. Describe the reason a psychologist should have a professional will;

2. Describe the elements that should be included in a professional will; and

3. Describe the ethical issues that may arise when preparing for and implementing a professional will

CREDITS OFFERED: 1 Continuing Education Credit for psychologists and educators. 

The Pennsylvania Psychological Association is approved by the American Psychological Association to offer continuing education for psychologists.  PPA maintains responsibility for this program and its content.  The Pennsylvania Psychological Association is an approved provider for Act 48 Continuing Professional Education Requirements as mandated by the Pennsylvania Department of Education.
