Suffering Wisely: Promoting Compassionate Grieving and Post-Traumatic Growth

This hour-long webinar will focus on evidence-based techniques for helping clients (and ourselves) react to, live with, and think about suffering well. An emphasis will be placed on techniques that promote self-compassion, mindfulness, and loving kindness in reacting to loss as well as strategies for promoting post-traumatic growth after the suffering has ended. Participants will be asked to do two brief exercises before the start of the webinar.
Program Learning Objectives: At the end of this webinar, participants will be able to:
- Use an evidence-based assessment tool for measuring a person's level of self-compassion
- Help clients to use mindfulness and loving kindness to grieve losses
- Help clients to manifest post-traumatic growth after suffering has passed
