Challenges and Strategies to Empower Psychologists Working in Polarizing TimesDue to the interactive nature of this program - attendance is limited to 50 participants Cost PPA Members: $50 Non-members - $100
2 Continuing Education Credits This program is LIVE and will not be recorded
Program Description: We live in extraordinary times when many Americans (including psychologists) are experiencing disruptions in their relationships, including psychotherapeutic relationships, because of political polarization. The workshop will present participants with strategies to help them provide compassionate and effective services to patients with perspectives they view as polarizing. There will be an opportunity for participant interaction, and helpful resources will be provided. This program is limited to 50 participants.
Program Learning Objectives: At the end of this webinar, participants will be able to: 1. Identify difficulties in psychotherapy with patients they perceive to have highly polarizing political beliefs. 2. Describe options to psychologists to deliver high-quality psychological services to patients who contribute to or who are impacted by political and cultural polarization. This program is sponsored by the Pennsylvania Psychological Association (PPA). PPA is approved by the American Psychological Association to sponsor continuing education for psychologists. PPA maintains responsibility for the program and its content.
