Program Description: We are living in extraordinary times when many Americans (including psychologists) are suffering great stress, fear, anxiety, and interpersonal turmoil over political developments. The workshop will allow participants to describe their experiences working in a polarized political atmosphere and their strategies for handling polarizing events in psychotherapy. There will be an opportunity for participant interaction, and helpful resources will be provided. This program is limited to 50 participants.
Program Learning Objectives: At the end of this webinar, participants will be able to: 1. Describe their difficulties in conducting psychotherapy in a highly polarized political environment 2. Describe options to help them maintain a high quality of service with patients with divergent political or social perspectives This program is sponsored by the Pennsylvania Psychological Association (PPA). PPA is approved by the American Psychological Association to sponsor continuing education for psychologists. PPA maintains responsibility for the program and its content.
