Workshop Summary:

Having an active risk management strategy is an essential part of a psychologist’s professional practice especially when confronted with difficult or high risk patients. This workshop will review basic risk management strategies, situations that result in licensing board complaints and strategies to deal with high risk patients that present a risk to harm themselves or others. There will be opportunities for participant interaction.

Program Learning Objectives:

 

At the end of the program the participants will be able to:

  1. Describe effective patient-centered risk management strategies; and
  2. Describe how to apply risk management strategies to high risk situations and patients.
